I'd like to recommend to you this wonderful 3D RTS, that is very similar to "The Moon Project" (if anyone played it?)...

The game itself is very fast and has tons of great graphics and details ( it's 3D, fog God sake ;D ).
Once started with the game, you must establish your HQ and start with developing new technologies and vehicles and get ready to rush down to your enemy 8)

Every now and then you may find artifacts - they have information about new technology you are about to develop ;) So... Open your eyes.  :o ;D

Here's brief view about the game:
    * 400+ Technologies to research
    * 2,000+ different units to design
    * 3 Large campaign maps to conquer
    * 24 Fast play mission maps for extra action
    * Intelligence Display sets objectives dynamically
    * Interactive message system
    * Fast Play Interface graphically Based
    * Quick Screen Navigation
    * Fast Find System for units & structures
    * Set Factories to constant production
    * Automatically send each factory's units to where you want them
    * Cross-Platform internet/intranet multiplayer with up to 8 players
    * Challenging Computer-AI

If you are interested in screenshots, feel free to view them here: http://wz2100.net/screenshots

This game is crossplatform, so you may play it under Linux, MacOS or Windows!  ::)

I can tell by the screenshots that game uses a simple 3d engine, but still looks nice... :P

btw 2,000+ different units, 400+ technologies?? wow...
is it hard to catch up with all that things?
